HOUSE EXTENTION, LEUVEN

Client: Claes-Dries
Year: 2006
Project:

There was a need for extra space and separate bedrooms for the 2 daughters of the client, sharing the attic-space under the roof up to then.

The roof was “lifted-up” to provide extra space. The volume, after lifting the roof, was given form as a long horizontal wooden box-window, with horizontal glazed parts.
The clients wished for an extensive use of ecological and sustainable building materials and -methods.
The wooden structure of the addition is extensively isolated, made airtight and damp-open.
